Tango arrived in Stony Brook, LI because The pandemic forced Dardo Galletto and Alonso Guzmán to pack up their things and close their former Times Square studio Dardo Galletto Studio. Thanks to our students at Stony Brook, we continued doing what we love: teaching Tango and helping people become great dancers.
After a fantastic year and a half of teaching in the back room of The Bench Bar & Grill, we are announcing that we have moved to a different location: The Sanctuary.
And some quotes by Dardo Galletto…
“The Sanctuary is the perfect place to focus on developing oneself to become a better dancer and a better person.“
“We need to separate as much as we can the core from the periphery.“
“Your periphery needs to reflect what you want from your core.“
“When it’s a piece of cake we disappear.
“We always want the action to be the reaction. We want to show off. But we have to be careful – we can show off the reaction. Your action is whatever makes your flow flow….
I can manage the lower core technically the same way I can manage the upper core…
Student– I have to find each place?
Dardo– even today you manage your upper core better than last week
Student- So because I’m working on it the lower core is doing its thing…
Dardo– yes. … “
